Chek jawa is not a Serengeti Plain or a Great Barrier Reef.
But it possess its own unique set of characteristics.
Most importantly, it is the last of its kind in Singapore.
Together with the rocky shore of Labrador , the primary forest of
Bukit Timah, and the mangrove swamp of Sungei Buloh, the tidal flats of
Chek jawa completes a set of local habitat invaluable for our childrens' education.
